Enough is enough is enough…” The chorus of Donna Summer’s No More Tears hit song seems to foot the bill of the majority of women I come in contact with these days.  Just when you think you can’t possibly do another thing, you find yourself committing to yet another job, another function, another meeting…I am surrounded by over-achieving, hard working, courageous women.  Most often during our conversations we’re talking about all the great work we’re doing or all the stuff going on at home like school plays, proms or college applications. The one constant is how very much women pile on. I’m as guilty as the next woman.

I am not sure there’s a solution to this insanity, but I do note that eventually something’s gotta give.
Mercer County Woman has put together a ‘GIFT’ for women. Our ‘GIFT’ to you is our 4th Annual Head to Toe Women’s EXPO – “The Ultimate Girl’s Day Out!” In it’s 4th year, we have worked hard and thoughtfully to make the EXPO an enriching, fun, and relaxing day for women of all ages. And it’s FREE
to attend.

Upon entering the exhibit hall you’ll receive a ‘Goodie Bag’ filled with information and giveaways and the Program Book which spells out the day’s activities.  In the exhibit hall you will find over 100 vendors sharing their wares, products, information and smiles. Every category covered within the pages of Mercer County Woman is represented at the EXPO.   Also in the exhibit hall is our local Antique Road Show.   You are encouraged to bring in your antiques and stop by Empire Antiques booth and get a free appraisal.  Just ahead is the Health & Wellness Center. There you can have your blood pressure read and other health screenings all while enjoying  a massage while you wait.

Next is the ‘Festival of Foods’. Here you’ll find a wide array of restaurants, caterers, beverage companies and the like. This year we’ve partnered with the March of Dimes to raise funds to help prevent premature births and all the related complications. So a $1 a sample and all the money goes to fighting prematurity. The ‘Festival’ has taken on a whole new theme thanks to ‘Accentuations Event Planning’ who’s creativity has transformed the ‘Festival of Foods’ into every party’s party.

Upstairs is where all the Head to Toe seminars are being presented. There will be three breakout sessions throughout the day along with Pilate & Zumba Dance demonstrations.  Also upstairs is the ‘Book Nook’ where local women authors are available with their books. The ‘Book Nook’ will feature an ‘Author’s FORUM’ for anyone who ever thought about writing a book. The ‘Author’s Forum’ is designed to help answer any of your questions and lend advise on the whole publishing process. Open Door Publications is graciously coordinating ‘BOOK NOOK’.

All in all, Mercer County Woman staff and supporters have planned an event that women can come to and stay as long or as little as they desire. They can shop or not shop, eat and learn along the way.  Our goal is to create the experience of “The Ultimate Girl’s Day Out!”  Please register in advance at www.whoscoming.com/headtoToesWomenEXPO.

Looking forward to seeing you there.
